DORAL, Fla. (AP) - Wildlife officials are holding an eight-day hunter safety course in Miami-Dade County.

The free course hosted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission starts Tuesday and ends May 24. (The days are not consecutive). Participants will need to attend all days of the course. It will be held at the Divine Savior Academy in Doral.

A commission press release says students will learn about hunting laws, safe gun handling and hunter ethics, among other topics, before taking the final test. The course also includes live-firing instruction on a shooting range.
