AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Dozens of motorcyclists are meeting Maine Gov. Paul LePage for tea at the Blaine House.

Tuesday morning’s event, which is organized every year by the United Bikers of Maine, kicks off Motorcycle Safety Awareness month.

The Republican governor is urging motorists to keep an eye out for bikers as the weather warms up. He says motorcyclists should also ensure they’re visible to drivers.

United Bikers of Maine also holds an annual Christmastime fundraiser during which thousands of riders across the state travel to Windsor Fairgrounds to deliver thousands of toys that are later distributed to needy children.
