LAS VEGAS (AP) - State transportation officials say they’ve reached a settlement over 3 acres of land that the owner valued at more than $100 million and the state valued at less than $1 million.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/SY9PQ1 ) the agreement over the plot needed for the Boulder City Bypass project was “substantially less” than the most recent, $33 million offer from the landowner, although the exact settlement amount was not disclosed at a transportation board meeting Monday.
The tentative deal is scheduled to be approved at a June meeting of the state Board of Examiners.
Nevada officials inked a $2.7 million deal with private attorney Laura Fitzsimmons to solve the right-of-way dispute.
The bypass will divert highway traffic around Boulder City and is a key element of the proposed Interstate 11.
