FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Travel on Interstate 40 will be reduced to one lane in each direction while crews replace a bridge east of Flagstaff.
Work on the eastbound deck of the Canyon Padre Bridge began Monday. The $2 million project includes replacing the bridge deck, rerouting traffic and creating a temporary off-ramp for eastbound traffic at the Twin Arrows exit.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says the work about 22 miles east of Flagstaff will be done in three phases. The project that also includes paving, striping and replacing guardrails is expected to be complete this fall.
