GENEVA, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a body found in a ditch in northeast Ohio over the weekend was a homicide victim who was shot in the head.
The Ashtabula County coroner’s office says the body found Sunday afternoon by a passer-by has been identified as 43-year-old Eugene Cray of Cleveland.
Sgt. Ronald Schneider, supervisor with the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Office of Criminal Investigation, tells The (Ashtabula) Star-Beacon (https://bit.ly/RBNTcd) that Cray’s body was found face down in the ditch. There was some blood on the road as if he had flipped over the guardrail.
Schneider said Cray could have been shot elsewhere and his body dumped there.
The coroner’s office said Cray’s family last saw him Saturday at about 6 p.m.
So far there are no suspects.
