HOUSTON (AP) - Astros reliever Jose Cisnero will have Tommy John surgery, ending his season.
General manager Jeff Luhnow says the right-hander will have the operation to replace his injured elbow ligament next week in Houston. Cisnero has been on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 7, with discomfort in his right elbow.
The 25-year-old Cisnero has a 9.64 ERA in five appearances this season. He appeared in 28 games for Houston last year and went 2-2 with a 4.12 ERA.
