A U.S. drone targeted and killed six al Qaeda militants in the southern province of Yemen on Monday — the latest in a string of American-led attacks on the terrorist group that has set down roots in the region, authorities there said.
The attack came against a car that was carrying the militants through the Abieda Valley in Marib province, The Associated Press reported. Officials are now trying to identify the militants, AP reported.
U.S. drone strikes have killed more than a dozen al Qaeda members in the same region in recent months.
Yemen, too, has bolstered its efforts in the past few weeks to drive the terrorist group from the nation’s southern region.
