LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The National Weather Service says a flash flood watch is in effect for much of Arkansas through Wednesday as a slow-moving storm system settles over the state.

Forecasters say up to 4 inches of rain is possible in some areas that are already saturated from recent storms. The watch covers the western half of the state and extends through the Little Rock area.

The weather service says the storm system and cold front will bring several rounds of showers and thunderstorms to Arkansas over the next few days. Forecasters say the area with the greatest potential for heavy rain is in the western and southwestern parts of Arkansas.
