ANOKA, Minn. (AP) - A former Minneapolis police officer accused of using social media to try to lure girls into sexual encounters has been sentenced to 30 months in prison.
The Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/1g2pVlP) reports 33-year-old Bradley Schnickel will get credit for 197 days for time already served.
Authorities say Schnickel made more than 700 Facebook contacts with middle- and high-school girls on his computer.
In February, Schnickel pleaded guilty in Anoka County to three counts of criminal or attempted criminal sexual conduct and two counts of electronic solicitation of a minor between 2010 and 2013.
He previously was sentenced in Hennepin County to a year in the workhouse after pleading guilty to sending nude photos of himself to two teenage girls in that county.
Schnickel was fired from the Minneapolis police force in February 2013.
