CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Laramie County Community College is creating a streamlined block of core classes to help students move on to the University of Wyoming or other four-year schools.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reported Monday (https://tinyurl.com/l97mlf3 ) the block would consist of 27 to 28 credit hours and would cover problem solving, information literacy, quantitative reasoning, scientific reasoning, communication and human culture.
College President Joe Schaffer says the hope is that students would have their general education courses complete if they go to UW or other schools.
Not all of the specific classes have been established. The program needs approval from the college trustees and the Wyoming Community College Commission.
Officials hope to have the core included in the catalog next fall, and some students could complete it by the end of next year.
