CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Twelve people are homeless after a weekend fire destroyed an apartment building in Charleston’s historic district.

Authorities say one person suffered minor burns in the fire that broke out about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The fire spread to all three stories of the building and part of the roof collapsed.

It’s not clear what caused the fire.
