SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - One teen is dead and another is hospitalized with serious injuries after a shooting incident on a Syracuse street.
Police say two 18-year-olds were walking on Alexander Avenue in the city around 2:15 a.m. Sunday when a gunman opened fire. A police officer heard the shots and went to the scene, where he found one teen lying unresponsive on the street and another with several gunshot wounds.
Sgt. Tom Connellan says both teens were taken to Upstate University Hospital, where one died and the other is being treated for wounds described as serious but not life-threatening.
The teen who died was identified as Malharis Pullins of Syracuse. The injured youth is identified as Carlito Alexander of Syracuse.
Connellan says the investigation is continuing.
