Progressive darling Sen. Elizabeth Warren repeated her Shermanesque pledge Sunday and vowed not to run for president in 2016, but she declined to endorse her party’s clear frontrunner, Hillary Clinton.

Mrs. Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat who has captured liberal hearts and imaginations by consistently bashing the rich and powerful in American society, appeared on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday to promote her new book, “A Fighting Chance.”
But as is usually the case with Mrs. Warren, her future plans garnered the most attention.
“I am not running for president,” she said when pressed on the question, then immediately segued into what could be mistaken for a stump speech.
“I have watched as America’s middle class gets hammered one more time, and one more time, and one more time. I have watched as Washington tilts more and more and more toward the rich and powerful,” she added.
While a growing number of Democrats are lining up behind Mrs. Clinton, Mrs. Warren wouldn’t jump on that bandwagon.
“We’re not there,” she said. “This is about the issues on the table right now. We’ve got to talk about student loans. We’ve got to talk about minimum wage.”
