PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A brief look at the final round Sunday at The Players Championship at the TPC Sawgrass:
VICTOR: Martin Kaymer of Germany with a 1-under 71 to finish at 13-under 275.
SPOILS: Kaymer earned $1.8 million from the $10 million purse, the richest event on the PGA Tour.
RUNNER-UP: Jim Furyk shot 66 to finish one shot behind. It was his second straight runner-up.
CONTENDER: Jordan Spieth, tied for the 54-hole lead at the Masters and The Players, made five bogeys for a 74 and tied for fourth.
SHOT OF THE DAY: Kaymer rolled in a 30-foot par putt on the 17th hole to protect his one-shot lead.
ROUND OF THE DAY: Furyk had a bogey-free 66, the second-best score on Sunday and nearly made up a six-shot deficit.
KEY STATISTIC: There were only 28 shots hit into the water this week on the par-3 17th, the fewest since the PGA Tour began keeping track in 2003.
NOTEWORTHY: Kaymer joined Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Adam Scott as the only players to win a major, World Golf Championship and The Players Championship.
