HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf has been endorsed by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

In an editorial Sunday (https://bit.ly/1meVpWc ) the newspaper says the Democratic primary is “not really about issues, at least not among the four contenders.”

Rather, the newspaper picked Wolf, a York businessman, because of his background and professional resume over state Treasurer Rob McCord, former Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Katie McGinty, and U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz.

Wolf’s experience as state revenue secretary under former Gov. Ed Rendell “along with his perspective as a business owner, gives him a ground-level understanding of the state’s tax code.”

That, the newspaper says, helps set Wolf apart from the other Democrats who generally agree on policies, except for some details.
