NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Plans for the future of Edna Karr High School will be discussed Monday at a meeting between the New Orleans School Board and the project manager for the $31 million proposal for a new campus.

Nola.comThe Times-Picayune reported (https://bit.ly/1m2fjUj) the school has been operating at a former middle school campus in the city’s Algiers section.

The School Board plans to move Karr to the site of the former Jo Ellen Smith Hospital.

School Board representatives and construction management company Jacobs/CSRS are expected to provide updates on the design at Monday’s meeting.

The school system expects to have the new site completed by December 2016. Architects for the project are Trapolin Peer Architects.

The new Karr campus is part of a $1.8 billion overhaul of New Orleans’ public school campuses.

Monday’s meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the cafeteria of Alice Harte Elementary on General Meyer Avenue. It is open to the public.
