BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. (AP) - Monkeys and turtles and a rattlesnake, oh my!

The Suffolk County SPCA says more than two dozen animals were turned in Sunday at an amnesty event. They include both reptiles and mammals that cannot legally be kept as pets.

The event on Saturday brought in 25 animals. They include two common marmoset monkeys, an albino western diamond rattlesnake, and a common snapping turtle.

People were allowed to turn in the animals without fear of prosecution.
