LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez of Nebraska has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent.

Martinez’s father, Casey, confirmed in an email to The Associated Press on Sunday that Martinez would join the Eagles, but he didn’t know what position Taylor would play. The Eagles’ starter is Nick Foles, and Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley are his backups.

Taylor Martinez played in only four games in 2013 because of a foot injury after being named to the coaches’ All-Big Ten first team in 2012. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Martinez left Nebraska as the program’s career leader in total offense, passing yards, career touchdown passes and starts by a quarterback.

Martinez worked at receiver and safety as well as quarterback during Nebraska’s pro day.
