YORK, Pa. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial challenger Bob Guzzardi will still be on at least one Pennsylvania county’s ballots - sort of - during the May 20 primary.

The state Supreme Court on May 1 ordered Guzzardi off the ballot, overturning a lower court decision that Guzzardi could remain on the ballot opposite Gov. Tom Corbett despite filing a late statement of financial interests.

But officials in York County tell the York Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1sikv6i ) that decision made it difficult to reprogram 600 electronic voting machines by the primary.

As a result, Guzzardi’s name will still appear on the machines, but any votes cast for him that way will be considered write-ins. Voters may also write in Guzzardi’s name the conventional way.

Department of State spokesman Ron Ruman says he believes York isn’t the only county in the same situation.
