PLAINVILLE, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say one person has been killed and five others seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Plainville.
Authorities say a total of six cars were involved in the crash Sunday night in the southbound lanes of Interstate 495.
State police have not released the name of the person who was killed. They say five other people were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Just before the crash, troopers say they were responding to reports of a vehicle traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of I-495 between Exits 13 and 14.
State police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
