ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say a 4-year-old girl was killed when she was hit by a sport-utility vehicle while riding her bike in a mobile-home park.

Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident Friday night. They say the 46-year-old driver turned a corner when she struck the girl.

Police were still investigating Saturday and the driver has not been cited.

The girl was identified as Ashley Xiong. She was not wearing a helmet.

Anchorage police say bicycle helmets are required for children until their 16th birthday when riding in public places such as streets, sidewalks, trails and parking lots.
