BOSTON (AP) - Thousands of people have rallied outside the State House in Boston in a growing international outrage over the failure of Nigeria’s government to rescue 276 girls kidnapped by Islamic extremists.
The girls were seized from a school on April 15 by Boko Haram, which seeks to impose Islamic law in the west African nation. That is despite the fact that Nigeria’s population of 170 million is divided almost equally between Christians and Muslims.
WBZ-TV (https://cbsloc.al/1kWxkAu ) reported that Saturday’s “Bring Back Our Girls” rally in Boston attracted about 2,000 people. It was organized by the local Nigerian community.
American, British and French military and security experts are in Nigeria to help in efforts to rescue the girls after the Nigerian military failed to free them from the terrorist network.
