The Washington Redskins finished their 2014 NFL draft by selecting Indiana tight end Ted Bolser and Arkansas kicker Zach Hocker in the seventh round.

Bolser caught 117 passes in 2013 for 1,337 yards and 15 touchdowns. Not bad for a player who was a wide receiver in high school. He became a starter as a junior and was a complementary player as a sophomore. Blocking was an issue early for Bolser, who is 6-foot-5 and 257 pounds.

“I hadn’t really put my hand on the ground at all,” Bolser said. “Throughout my process at Indiana I got a lot better at blocking, which a lot of people like how I block and they see my effort in every single play. I play with a chip on my shoulder.”

Bolser was chosen with the No. 217 overall pick. Hocker was a four-year starter for the Razorbacks. He made five-of-seven field goals from beyond 50 yards, including three as a senior. In his career he missed two extra points in 171 attempts - both of those coming in his sophomore year.

Hocker’s career long field goal is 54 yards and he recorded 34 touchbacks as a senior. He would be competing with incumbent Kai Forbath and Jake Rogers in training camp. The Redskins acquired the No, 228 pick by trading down in the sixth round in a trade with the Tennessee Titans.
