FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) - Lyon County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a suspect in a shooting Fernley.

The sheriff’s office says 21-year-old Spencer Brown is being held in the Lyon County jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

Deputies responded to a call about 2 a.m. Friday at an apartment on Village Drive where a woman told them her boyfriend had shot a man.

She said he shot the man, an acquaintance of the couple, during an argument.

Police say Brown initially barricaded himself in the couple’s apartment about but eventually surrendered without incident.

The victim, who has not been identified, was transported by a relative to a Reno hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Deputies say he suffered a cut when a bullet apparently grazed his head.
