MORRIS, Ill. (AP) - Exelon Generation is holding its annual open house at its Dresden Generating Station in northern Illinois.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, and is meant to update residents on station operations, safety compliance, emergency preparedness and other issues.
Visitors may tour the station’s control-room simulator and talk to employees.
The event is free and includes refreshments. A state-issued ID is required for entry, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Dresden Vice President Shane Mark says more than 225 people attended the last open house.
The plant is in Morris, about 60 miles southwest of Chicago.
