MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The Wisconsin Veterans Museum is now a Smithsonian Institution partner.
The famous set of Washington, D.C.-based museums designated the veterans museum as an affiliate last week. The designation allows the veterans museum to borrow and display Smithsonian artifacts and traveling exhibits, tap Smithsonian staff’s expertise and use the Smithsonian’s logo on marketing materials. Veterans museum members also can get reduced Smithsonian memberships.
Smithsonian officials are set to appear at the veterans museum in Madison Thursday evening and answer questions from the public. Attendees also will get a chance to explore new additions to the museum’s “War on Terror” exhibit.
