PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A man wanted for a home invasion in Woonsocket led police on a wild chase that included a bystander being shot.

Police say the chase started after the home invasion Thursday, when the alleged suspect fled in a Nissan. Woonsocket and State Police chased him into Providence, where he crashed.

There, police say the man carjacked another driver, shooting that driver in the foot. The wound was not life-threatening.

Police say he then fled and ended up in Cumberland, where he crashed again. There, state police were able to arrest him.

The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
