The 2017 Senior PGA Championship will be held at Trump National in Potomac Falls, Va., the PGA of America announced Thursday.
The agreement is part of a new agreement with Donald Trump’s growing golf empire and included the selection of the Trump National in Bedminster, N.J., as the site of the 2022 PGA Championship.
“We have two courses that are really spectacular courses,” Trump said at Thursday’s announcement. “You’re going to see that in Washington on the Potomac River. That’s going to be the Senior PGA, that will be in 2017, and I really look forward to people seeing that great place and our great people that work there.”
The 78th Senior PGA, to be held in May 2017, will be the first contested in the Washington, D.C. area. Trump’s Tom Fazio-designed course opened in 2009 and runs alongside the Potomac throughout its length. It was the site of the 2013 Junior PGA Championship.
