NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A South Carolina woman convicted of robbing several banks in Virginia will spend more than 11 years in prison.

U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente says 44-year-old Nicole Racquel Drakeford of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, admitted to robbing two banks in Fairfax County and a credit union in Chesapeake in 2013.

Drakeford had pleaded guilty in January to armed bank robbery and a related weapons charge. She was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Norfolk to 11 years and five months in prison.
