WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - The union representing nurses at a northeastern Pennsylvania hospital has filed unfair labor practice complaints against the hospital with the federal government.

The Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals represents 460 registered nurses at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

The union filed complaints with the National Labor Relations Board alleging that the hospital failed to provide needed information about wages, benefits, overtime and staffing. Officials also accuse the hospital of preventing the union from distributing information to the public.

A hearing on the complaints is scheduled July 14 in Philadelphia.

The hospital said it is negotiating in good faith and remains committed to the bargaining process.

The two sides have been negotiating since February 2013. The last contract expired a year ago. The nurses conducted an informational picket last month.
