RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - An Atlanta man has been sentenced to four years and nine months in federal prison for participating in a fraud ring that stole more than $260,000 from Wells Fargo bank customers in Virginia and South Carolina.

Jacquis Depree Nelson’s was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Richmond. He also was ordered to make full restitution.

The 32-year-old Nelson pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

According to court papers, Nelson used stolen personal information to obtain fake IDs in the names of Wells Fargo account holders. Nelson and his co-conspirators withdrew money from the accounts and split the proceeds.

Co-conspirator Anthony Romey Carter of Elk Grove, California, was sentenced last year to more than five years in prison.
