HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (AP) - About 300 law enforcement officers from agencies across Broward County are expected to join Special Olympics athletes in a torch relay.

The group will take part in the 32-mile countywide torch run on Thursday to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.

The Special Olympians will start the run with the Olympic torch in Hallandale Beach and end in Lighthouse Point.

A county statement says the Broward Law Enforcement Torch Run is part of a 1,400-mile statewide relay.
