HOUSTON (AP) - A student on a Houston-area school bus and a person in an SUV have been slightly hurt after the vehicles collided and caught fire.

Officials with the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District say the accident happened late Wednesday afternoon. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says the SUV rear-ended the bus, which carried 17 students.

Authorities say a student and a person from the SUV were transported to a hospital to be checked, as a precaution. Their conditions weren’t immediately available.

The sheriff’s office did not immediately provide additional details Thursday.
