CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Wildlife officials are reminding Wyomingites that gathering shed horns and antlers is prohibited on most public lands, including state lands west of the Continental Divide until April 30.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says the regulation is intended to minimize disturbance of big game animals on their winter and spring ranges when they are most vulnerable to stress and potential displacement to less productive habitats.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1cEUrRl ) public lands in the Great Divide Basin are excluded from the regulation.
