Ted Turner of Turner Broadcasting System and CNN fame has been transported to a hospital in South America for an undisclosed reason.
Phillip Evans, a spokesman for the media magnate, said Mr. Turner was admitted to a facility for observation, but declined to specify further, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
A news outlet in South America said Mr. Turner had been traveling in an area by Argentina, and was taken to a hospital in Bariloche. The Buenos Aires Herald also reported that Mr. Turner had appendicitis and had turned down at least one doctor’s recommendation for surgery.
Mr. Evans declined to comment on the local reports.
