ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - A new charity run with a finish line at Michigan Stadium will replace one that earlier was cancelled by the school’s athletics department.

The Ann Arbor News reports (https://bit.ly/1fOxN3l ) that University of Michigan athletics plans to hold the “Big House 5K: Trail to the Victors” on April 6. The fundraising run loops through downtown Ann Arbor and ends at the home of the Wolverines football team.

The event is similar to the “Big House Big Heart” event, which for several years was hosted at Michigan Stadium and sponsored by Champions for Charity. That event was cancelled for last year after school officials said the stadium wouldn’t be available.

The “Big House Big Heart” event had 10-kilometer, 5-kilometer and 1-mile routes in downtown Ann Arbor and University of Michigan’s campus.
