ATLANTA (AP) - Broadway star Audra McDonald will perform at the fourth annual symphony gala.

McDonald, a Tony and Grammy Award-winner, will be the featured performer with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the orchestra’s talent development program. The black-tie event, which will include a silent auction, will take place at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta on Saturday night.

The program identifies musically-gifted African American and Latino instrumentalists, preparing them for acceptance into top music programs and eventual careers as professional musicians.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the orchestra and its education and community programs.
