BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella says he is happy with the forwards he has, and that seems to be bad news for Juventus striker Carlos Tevez and his prospects for playing at the World Cup.

Tevez, who has had conflicts with coaches in the past, has not been called up since Sabella was named coach in 2011.

Argentina boasts Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain, Sergio Aguero, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Angel Di Maria. However, they were ineffective in the 0-0 draw with Romania in a friendly on Wednesday.

Speaking in a radio interview late Thursday, Sabella says “I’m confident in the forwards I have.”

Tevez, who played for Argentina in the last two World Cups, told Italian television a few days ago that his future with the national team “all depends on Sabella.”
