PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Rhode Island House of Representatives is holding a workshop to develop strategies for improving the state’s economy.

The event is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the Statehouse.

Speakers including a senior vice president at CVS Caremark Corp. and the publisher of an urban affairs website.

House Speaker Gordon Fox, a Democrat, says the goal of the workshop is to identify strategies for creating jobs and improving the state’s business climate.

The Senate plans its own economic summit on Monday that will focus on workforce development.
