MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Washington Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan dropped by the Indiana elementary school he once attended to rally its students to do well on their ISTEP+ exams.

Kerrigan visited Mitchell Elementary School on Wednesday as part of the Muncie school’s weeklong schedule of preparation events for the student-assessment tests.

The Star Press reports (https://tspne.ws/1id6jIb ) that students exclaimed “There he is!” when they filed into the school’s gym and spotted the 6-foot-4 Kerrigan standing on the sidelines.

Kerrigan told the youngsters that working hard means being willing to “do the little things that others aren’t willing to do.”

He says he was “a solid student” who loved multiplication tables. Kerrigan majored in math at Purdue University.
