PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan says a hockey stick autographed by NHL champion Wayne Gretzky was in her car that was recently stolen.

Kwan and her husband, Clay Pell, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor, didn’t report the missing stick. But Kwan talked about its loss while at a recent meeting of political candidates.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1oturIk ) that Pell’s campaign manager said Tuesday he didn’t know about the missing item and didn’t answer questions about it.

Police say Kwan and Pell didn’t report anything missing in the 2010 Toyota Prius that was reported missing Feb. 26 outside their East Side Providence house. The keys were inside, between the seats.

Kwan and Gretzky were at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan, and at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
