WASHINGTON (AP) - The District of Columbia issued more than 1,000 tickets during this week’s snow emergency.
The Washington Post (https://wapo.st/1f0sVNe ) reports that the Department of Public Works says officers issued 1,124 snow emergency tickets and towed and impounded 90 vehicles. Private towing companies towed and impounded another 243 vehicles.
The snow emergency went into effect early Monday and was lifted Tuesday morning.
The fine for parking illegally on a snow route during a snow emergency is $250. Towing fees add another $100 and storage fees are $20 per day until a vehicle is claimed.
