LOS ANGELES (AP) - A woman accused of driving the wrong way on a Southern California freeway, causing a head-on crash that killed her sister and five others, has been released from a hospital and transferred to jail.
The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1l7rI7a ) 21-year-old Olivia Culbreath was moved to county lockup early Thursday. She is being held in lieu of $6 million bail.
Culbreath was charged Feb. 13 with six counts of murder. An arraignment date has not been scheduled.
Prosecutors say Culbreath was driving a Camaro that hit a Ford Explorer on State Route 60 in Diamond Bar, hurling wreckage and bodies onto the roadway. Four people in the SUV - all members of the same family - were killed.
Culbreath’s sister and another woman in the Camaro also died.
