LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Lincoln woman has been accused of keeping her infant daughter in such filthy living conditions that there were roach eggs on the girl’s feet.

Police say 28-year-old Elizabeth Roberts was arrested Tuesday night following a search of her apartment on suspicion of drug use.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (https://bit.ly/1lzEu1j ) authorities searched Roberts’ apartment and found methamphetamine residue and drug paraphernalia. They say they found Roberts’ 8-month-old daughter lying face down on a blanket covered in vomit. Her feet were allegedly covered in roach eggs.

Roberts was cited with misdemeanor child abuse and charged Wednesday with possession of a controlled substance. Court records do not list an attorney for her.

The infant has been placed in protective custody.
