DUBLIN, Ga. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a middle Georgia woman has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $460,000 in Veterans Affairs benefits through fraudulent workers’ compensation claims.

Authorities say 41-year-old Loretta Smith of Glenwood entered a plea last week and faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and more.

Prosecutors say Smith was employed with the VA and falsely claimed costs for travel that she never made and for medical treatments she never received.

A sentencing date hasn’t been set.
