CHICAGO (AP) - Illinois State Police now say eight of the nine people taken to hospitals after a morning crash involving a car, a Megabus and a day care van were children. But none of the children were injured.
ISP says the children were taken to hospitals as a precaution after the Wednesday morning accident on Chicago’s South Side.
The driver of the day care van that carried the children was hospitalized with injuries that aren’t life-threatening.
The collision took place on Interstate 94.
The crash happened after a car bounced off an expressway railing and hit the day care van. The bus struck the two other vehicles that were stopped.
ISP spokeswoman Monique Bond says road conditions were slippery because of a morning snow storm and weather was likely a factor.
