TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson had its warmest December to February on record.

National Weather Service meteorologists say Tucson’s average temperature hit 56.9 degrees in the past three months.

That’s three-tenths of a degree warmer than the previous record, set in the winter of 1980-81.

Records started being kept in the Tucson area in 1895.

This was also the 15th driest winter on record, with .84 inches of rain falling in the period at the Tucson International Airport.

The Weather Service says that total was almost two inches below normal.
