ATLANTA (AP) - Five-time Olympian and Hall of Famer Teresa Edwards has agreed to become an assistant coach for the Atlanta Dream.

Edwards is a former coach of the ABL Atlanta Glory and assistant coach and interim coach for the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock. The former Georgia All-American also was an assistant with the Minnesota Lynx.

Edwards, enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 2011, will work under coach Michael Cooper.

Dream general manager Angela Taylor says Tuesday that Edwards has had “a tremendous impact” on the growth of women’s basketball in Georgia “and beyond.”

Edwards says she is grateful “to be back on the hardwood.”

Edwards won four gold medals and one bronze medal in the Olympics.
