OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) - You may see a familiar face in the new Muppets movie, “Muppets Most Wanted.”

Dylan Postl of Oshkosh, also known WWE Superstar Hornswoggle, is featured in the movie which opened March 21.

Postl is a big fan of the Muppets and has 29 Muppets-themed tattoos. He said taking part in the movie and walking the red carpet, which he did a couple weeks ago at the movie’s premiere, was a dream come true.

“It was cool on so many different levels,” he told Oshkosh Northwestern Media (https://oshko.sh/1hwVAWU). “The fanatic in me was just going crazy.”

Postl’s character is Prisoner 1 in scenes that take place in a Russian prison. He said some of his favorite parts of filming for four weeks in London last year were learning the choreography for the dance numbers and getting to know the Muppet performers and their histories.

“I had to pinch myself daily to realize what I was doing,” he said, adding going through the filming process made the experience even better.

The 27-year-old also got to work with stars like Tina Fey.

“Tina Fey is just amazing,” he said, adding he’s a fan of her work. “And she is just so funny and so good hearted.”

Recently Postl took his family, friends and 4-year-old son, Landon, to see the movie in Oshkosh. Landon stood up in the theater, proudly pointing and shouting at his dad on the big screen.

He said to see that joy on his son’s face made all of it worth it, and little things like seeing his name in the credits made it even more so.

“I never would have thought that in a million years that this would have happened, being in WWE and being in a Muppet film,” he said. “But for some stroke of luck I guess they both did and I’m loving both of them.”

Eric Postl, his father, said it was really cool to see his son on the big screen and to accompany him to the movie’s red carpet premiere. He said his son was a natural on the red carpet, interacting with reporters and posing for cameras.

It’s incredible that Dylan Postl was able to combine his love for wrestling and the Muppets, he said.

“I’m very proud of him that he stuck with his dream and he made it,” Eric Postl said.

Dylan Postl began his career as a local wrestler in 2003 and graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 2004. He started wrestling around the Midwest and gained the attention of WWE, which hired him in 2006.

Next Postl will head to New Orleans on April 6 for the 30th anniversary of Wrestlemania, the biggest WWE event of the year. He also stars in a horror movie scheduled for release this summer called “Leprechaun: Origins.”

“I’m a normal kid from Oshkosh, Wisconsin,” he said. “That all my dreams are coming true.”

While he’s working his dream job, Postl said there’s no place like home. He spends about three days a week in Oshkosh to be with his family, whether going for a drive together, to a movie or just simply hanging out.
