TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama defensive lineman Darren Lake will miss the rest of spring practice recovering from surgery on an injured pectoral muscle.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said Monday that Lake will be able to participate in summer conditioning. He says the backup nose guard was “doing extremely well in the offseason program.”

Lake played in all 13 games last season, finishing with 15 tackles. He was a backup to Brandon Ivory.

Junior college transfer Jarran Reed is among those who have been working behind Ivory this spring.

The Crimson Tide returned from spring break on Monday.
